Arabic in Cairo: what do users think?
Margaret Bisulca: I studied MSA and the Egyptian dialect with Arab Academy for 4 months and made significant improvements during that time. The teachers are very encouraging and I felt that the school was able to address my language goals to push me to the level I wanted to achieve with Arabic. The classes are built around a course that they use, however, after a few weeks in class we tailored the course to fit my learning needs specifically.
Gil McKinnon: I just completed a two week course of Colloquial Arabic (private lessons, 3 hours a day). I highly recommend the Academy. My five instructors were friendly, knowledgeable and patient. Their teaching method is conducive to learning. The administration is well-organized. I hope to return in the months ahead.
Leah Van de Putte: Studying at Arab Academy has been a great choice! Starting off with 1 month of عامية "to try the school out" quickly led to booking 3 months extra. The school is super flexible to make a personal class schedule that fits your needs and wishes, the classes itself are conversation-based: ideal for getting around in the Egypt! I have made lovely friends and kind connections with the teachers (who are all Egyptian, a massive improvement in up-to-date vocab in comparison to my classes in my home country). When I come back, I will definitely stop by again!
Elmjak Ashraf: مكان ممتاز
Jeremy Low: I have enjoyed my time learning Egyptian Colloquial Arabic at Arab Academy. The teachers were extremely patient and effective in their classes and they made learning fun.
Elnaz Ashkriz: I studied at Arab Academy for one month. The school is great, it has a really positive atmosphere and the teachers are kind and committed. I had a great time there and I highly recommend it for anyone who wants to study Arabic.
Jack Harris: I spent 2 months studying at Arab Academy in the summer of 2022. I found the staff to be excellent, friendly and supportive. The teachers are patient, and it is a great setting to learn either Modern Standard or Colloquial Egyptian Arabic.
Zhixi Liu: My seven-week study (for both MSA and Egyptian Colloquial Arabic) at Arab Academy was definitely gratifying! I came with the shyness and fear of speaking Arabic and left with the confidence and competence of expressing myself in Arabic. Thanks to the pedagogical skills of my teachers and the positive vibe they brought to the classroom, I found the beauty of Arabic and the enjoyment of using the language.Besides the fact that I was satisfied with the linguistic knowledge I gained, I also got obsessed with the class discussion on various topics including cultural affiliation, social norms, and medical systems. In addition, the institute is very well-organized and my communication with the executive staff is always super efficient.Highly recommend!
Honghao Su: I had very pleasant experience studying Arabic with Arab Academy. The course was well-structured and the level was decent with me as I had some experience with Arabic before. Even though I only spent two weeks there, I still learnt a lot. The teachers are very qualified and patient. They always correct me patiently on some of the mistakes that I make over and over again, and they are always happy to answer my questions. I would highly recommend Arab Academy for Arabic learning and I wish to come back soon.
Lennert Staat: Very good lessons. They team is very friendly, dedicated and willing to help you with all your personal requests. I had a private course fitting my needs to progress in Arabic and the team did everything to help me to reach my personal goals. The team is also very quick responding on every request/email. It was a lovely experience! I recommend this language academy strongly!
Lizzy Budden: My friend and I studied here for a week during Ramadan 2022, we loved it so much! The course for Egyptian dialect was thorough and covered many interesting topics. All the teachers immediately made us feel welcome and comfortable, and the only downside is that we could not stay for longer! Thank you Arab Academy!
Roel Welling: The Arab Academy is a great language school and I enjoyed studying there, even if it was only for a month. The teachers are friendly and qualified. The Arab Academy has developed its own method, which is good, but it can get a bit tedious in class when you are strictly following an online course on the screen. Everybody at the Academy is really welcoming and makes you feel at home. They also organize events where you can practice your Arabic and meet new people.
Sylvie Marchand: This was such a beautiful experience, it is so fruitful learning at the Arabacademy !I want to thank the whole team and the wonderful teachers for their welcoming and teaching abilities ! I will certainly come back and advise everyone to join this school !!! MERCI :-)
Jasmine baker: I studied with Arabic in Cairo for several months, firstly with the intensive course for one month (4 hours per day, 5 days per week), and then reduced down to 3 hours per week according to my needs and schedule (the school was happy to be flexible which was great). This is great place to learn Arabic from scratch and I recommend it highly, although the price is higher than other schools. Teachers are extremely qualified (my teacher had degrees/masters in translation and linguistics allowing him to explain things clearly) and the whole staff are helpful, friendly and accommodating. They also hold monthly 'parties' or activities for students which are genuinely great fun.
Simon Eugster: Studying at the Arab Academy was a very good experience. I feel like I made progress even though I was only there for a month. The teachers are friendly and supportive, it is fun learning from them. I also really appreciated the Academy's flexibility in studying schedules.
Jack Schwartz: I had a really great experience at Arab Academy. I took part in the intensive Arabic program in Cairo for two months, and I gained a solid grasp on the Arab language by the end of my time. I highly recommend anyone who is wanting to get started learning Arabic to choose Arab Academy.
Farida Soler: Arab Academy is a great school. The teachers are absolutely amazing. They are patient and willing to help their students. My young daughter is currently learning online and we have seen a tremendous growth in her ability to understand and communicate in the Arabic language. The material is very easy to follow and comprehend especially with their repetition model. The assignments are graded after each submission which helps students see their progress as well. It’s a great school with an affordable monthly rate and booking classes online is a breeze. I highly recommend Arab Academy.
Kyra Zimmerman: The school was great, organized and the teachers were wonderful! Wish I could have studied with them longer. :)
Luana Marina: I studied Modern Standard Arabic at Arab Academy for 4 Weeks (full-time, five days per week, four hours per day). The program is demanding but very efficient. I learned a lot and felt profoundly supported by the teachers and the staff. They adapted the lessons according to my needs when I asked for it. This helped me to improve even in the areas that were most difficult for me. The course provided me with a solid base of grammar, vocabulary, and expressions. Moreover, the teachers constantly encouraged oral communication. The software you get along with the course is excellent, and you get homework to apply what you have learned. Thus, I highly recommend Arab Academy to everyone willing to improve their Arabic as fast as possible. I got so much more out of this course than expected, including a warm and welcoming atmosphere at school!
Kai Wu: Très bonne école et bonne méthode.
stabkamay: The academy is located in Garden City, a quiet part of Cairo, and doesn't only provide courses in MSA (Modern Standard Arabic), but also in Egyptian Colloquial. I took MSA courses there (Advanced Mid-Level) during August 2021 together with some other students and it was a great experience. We'd study for five days a week, Sunday to Thursday, each day for four hours from 9 to 1. There usually was a different teacher for each hour and we would thus practise various things (usually reading and text comprehension, listening, speech). The teachers were very friendly and professional, also patient and would encourage us students to actively communicate in Arabic so that we could improve our skills. I can only agree with other reviews, the academy and its teachers are very professional and reliable.

Cairo English School - CES: what do users think?
Ahmed Amr Shaker: One of the most reasonable international schools, with very healthy teaching atmosphere
T D: This very nice school with an amazing staff and teachers and a very nice campus.
Bassant Kamal: No special needs cases is accepted which against the law
Ahmed El Kholy: My kid school for 4 yearsWas great options and a clear decline at all fronts have been seen.Sorry for that, yet still one of the few schools who got foreign teachers
Pip Meyers: The building design is stolen from a renowned school in Alexandria.
Not Sky: mid
Noha Haggag: Perfect school
Mira Zaky: Amazing school. One of the very few schools in Egypt where teachers really care about the students.
Adam: Amazing school. Teachers are very professional and they care about the students. Managed perfectly.
mo BILO: Pretty bad except for the teachers, teachers are kind and good at teaching, some of them
timber land: مدرسة مفيدة جدا و رائعة في المجال التعليمي
Malak Badr: This year is much better than the other years there is very good education and time management, I recommend this school for everyone.
John Elius: No wonder they need teachers all year round...
Narelle Watchman: It's a good place to work
Bothiana Khalifa: Unfortunate we met a very unprofessional , not excellent deal when we passed the admission process . As we took in November date for primary interview FS1 ( 2nd of December 2020) and then for group interview at 2nd of February 2021 after we finished it the admission staff told us that if your son accepted he will be on waiting list 😳This process cost me much time and effortN.bI asked the administration before the start of that process about the available place and they said yess sure .I assumed much respecting for our choice for your school
Everett Expat: New teacher beware. Place is really poorly managed, treats teachers terribly, and overcrowding of classrooms kills any chance at learning for students. Just wanted to let anyone thinking of accepting a position here that they are forcing teachers to come into school against COVID safety guidelines and putting everyone's health at risk. The school won't honor your contract when it suits them not to and you'll be coming in on your days off frequently just to keep up with your workload. Avoid at all costs.
Mohamed Soliman: Very bad administration and management
Judie Fadly: im a student here and i have alot of great teachers
Hossam Waly: Nice School
mohamed kassem: Very decent school with professional staff and a promising IB department
Ahmed sayed: I used to be a student in this school several years ago and honestly this school is a good example of money wastage , if you are someone who is willing to throw millions into thin air then send your children to this school.

Kenneth: Attended CAC from 2004 - 2013... Best school that has shaped me into who I am today. I can vividly remember the days I hung out with friends I made on the first day I attended! It would be awesome going back and seeing the place like I've seen it. I will never forget this school for all it has provided me.
Maxwell: Great school graduated in 1632
Amanda Henline: This place was just amazing, best school ever!
Janice Moore: One of the best experiences of my life. The culture, students and faculty helped me to assimilate into the culture. It also helped my future education endeavors and I now have two advanced degrees. It will always be "home" to me and I look forward to returning. Thanks for the memories!
bret larson: Went to third grade here in 1972. Learned judo and Arabic, not enough to spar or hold a conversation but for somebody from a small town in the prairies of Alberta it was a change of pace.I also learned to read. I was having a problem with reading as my school in Canada was trying a new age experiment. When you read in class you were to substitute words for their synonyms. This had put me behind. The cure was read every night with my mother. Seemed to work fine. This object lesson has stuck with me all this time. Its not rocket science. Thanks for showing me how to learn.
Explore MyHood: Vibrant school with strong multicultural mix. Great in academics and welcoming to new students from many countries
jonathan sawa: This school was special, i was there from kindergarten till highschool graduation. I wouldn't have picked anywhere else to go. Class of 2008
Mai Badr: Unforgettable. I'd love to repeat it.
Elena Baca: It was a real privilege to go to CAC and be part of the Maadi community in the seventies. I lived in both Maadi & New Maadi when there was barely anything there. I don't think any of us realized what a tight and long-lasting connection we were making within the CAC community. Many of us are still frequently in touch with friends & teachers from then. When I tell people that we traveled to Europe with French Club, cross country/track, or VB team, they don't believe it.I loved that I could just walk to my friends' houses, that there were events on school campus even during the summer, and that if I forgot a book after school or on weekends, I could jump the school fence and get it! We were there before any serious school security at the gate or even dress codes, which is wild to think about when I visit now. I recall walking around in bare feet even! No shoes, no problem! Ma'alesh! See evidence below. I spent 11 years of my life in Egypt, 7 of them at CAC. It was an unforgettable and wonderful period of my life.
dalia sultan: Best school ever!
Baris Meurer: I like.
Bilal Sandeela: I have nothing but good things to say about my childhood years at CAC.
Omar Mohamed: Great School
karem farouk: High quality education system
Abdelrhman Adel: It is good colleage
Mike Staley: Professional, family orientated, integrity of leadership, and children come first. Great school to learn, grow, and form lifelong friendships.
Xuefeng jin: 儿子游泳比赛的地方 美国🇺🇸老牌学校 设施完善 老师优秀 学费也很高,
Islam Salah Montaser: The most expensive school in Egypt
Kristen Potter: Pretty campus and great education.

Qortoba institute for Arabic studies " Nasr city ": what do users think?
Familie Meyer: I started learning arabic with the arabic bayna ladayg at Qortoba and am very satisfied I am currently learning online but I would also like to go to Egypt to learn there. The very positive thing is that you have to speak Arabic right from the start, since my English is very bad, I speak Arabic with the teacher from the start
Pearls Academy: MashAllah I study Arabic grammar and conversational Arabic with Ustadah Dina and she is amazing. The syllabus is amazing as we are able to cover both the grammar and conversation which is my goal.Ustadah Dina makes the class fun and not overwhelming. MashAllah She uses different resources like videos, real life instances to make me understand the language. She is always on time, great internet connection and very good at communicating if there is any problems.I will highly recommend this institute for anyone who wants to study Arabic language.
Ismail Abdul Hamid: Thank you Mr Thoriq and Ustz Shaima’ for the Arabic lang language lessons, and sharing your knowledge. Jazakallah khairan.
ZH Sidiqi: I'm highly recommending qortoba institute. for learning Quran and Arabic. My children and i learning Quran with teacher Samah Faruq she is an excellent teacher always on time MahaAllah, she use different techniques with my daughter. i am very happy Alhamdulila.
Muniza Hasan: I like my classes with Teacher Hager because they’re fun and they have games and quizzes sometimes. The homework isn’t hard either. — Zahra
Josh: This school provides excellent teachers. My Arabic has improved significantly. The teachers have had a university education studying the Arabic language.
Zak: Overall Qortoba Institute benefited me a lot. I came from the UK to get an Ijazah in the Quran and my teacher was extremely motivated and helped me a lot. He was extremely happy and proud when I finished. There is a tight-knit community inside the centre. You may meet people from all over the world who have come for the same reason you have. I would definitely recommend Qortoba Institute for foreigners who wish to study Quran, Arabic etc.
Maryam Mia: السلام عليكمI came from England to study Arabic at Qortoba Institute in Nasr City. I studied Quran and Arabic here for one month and it has been very beneficial. Sister Shayma made the lessons very enjoyable and I now know the fundamentals of Arabic and can confidently have a conversation on the topics we have covered. The staff overall were very nice and welcoming and the classes are small which makes it easier for each student to get attention from the teacher and learn better. Jazak Allahu Khairun.
Usama Mia: Arrived with my 3 children to spend the summer learning Arabic and Quran.Assisted with airport transport and finding local accommodation. High quality teaching in small groups. Highly recommended to make best use of vacation time. Option for ongoing remote learning after also. Superb!
Farzana Zubair: I really enjoy learning quran from qurtoba.. The teacher is quite knowledgeable and patient. The overall experience with the Institute is awesome.
Alethea Scott: I love studying from the Imaam Saud books with my teacher from Qortoba. I have learned a lot and still continue to learn so much with my teacher who is very nice and VERY patient. I would definitely recommend studying Arabic in this institute.
Ivan B Dowman: I started to learn Arabic over a year ago, the main reason for this was to learn to read the Quran.Mamdouh my teacher is a teacher with patients and tolerance, with a great understanding of his pupils needs.I continue to strive for my learning and Inshaa Allah I will succeed, I would like to thank Qortoba institute for their help in my life’s greatest blessings.Ivan Dowman
Bint Habib: After studying Qur’an and Arabic at Qortoba in Alexandria around 17 years ago it became dear to my heart. It was an experience I have never forgotten.Fast forward years later, after getting back in touch with them, my sons have been studying online with Qortoba since March and are making significant progress with their hifdh. Ustadh Wail has been amazing with them mashallaah very patient. He goes at their pace introducing new ayat each day and revising over old surahs they have already learnt. In previous years with othet organisations I have experienced other teachers who sometimes rush ahead and the boys struggle to remember what they have learnt so now I can confidently say they will inshallaah stay on with qortoba and bi idhnillaah complete their hifdh with them.Qortoba has excellent teachers. You are able to trial and see who you and your children are comfortable with. I have and will continue to recommend Qortoba institute to all my friends and family. May Allah bless them and us all and enable them to continue doing such an excellent job ameen.
Shahed Razaque: Tye service is good and eager to help. A good learning experience.
Asif Munir: Studying with Qortoba has been an extremely beneficial experience. The teachers are professional and skilled and break down the lessons into manageable parts for the students.I took two lessons for Arabic while at Qortoba. Both lessons were with Ustadh Badawi, I did one a hour lesson of Tuhfat al-Saniyyah Bisharh al-Muqadimat al-Ajrumiyyah and the the other lesson was for two hours and was for al arabiyyah bayna yadayk.I found the lessons to be very beneficial. Ustadh Badawi is a very qualified seasoned teacher who knows the Arabic language very well and also, more importantly, knows how to teach it to non-native speakers mashaAllah. He is also very patient and meticulous in his approach and didn’t move from a lesson to another until I had understood the points in the lesson. It was obvious his aim was to teach the language and not complete the lessons.I also studied Quran while I was there and spent an hour a day studying the Quran. As well as correcting recitation and reviewing/learning the rules of Tajweed I also learnt about the different Qiraah’s of the Quran and incorporated that in our recitation, specifically reciting the Qira’ah of Shu’bah ‘An ‘Asim as well as Hafs ‘An ‘Asim.I was set homework which was expected to be completed daily. Lessons were conducted at the centre and with my shortage of time the programme was tailored to my needs.I would recommend anyone who wants to have a positive learning experience to book with Qortoba. They are reasonably priced with dedicated, skilled teachers and extremely helpful staff who go out of their way to help you.
farzana habib: My sister recommended Qortoba as she had learned with them when she had come to Egypt, 16 years previously and had had a very positive experience .We found the staff to be friendly, helpful and very patient . As a family of eight coming to Egypt for the first time, we had a lot of concerns about accommodation, courses, teachers and fees. Before and on arrival, brother Tariq was extremely helpful in answering all our questions and securing us an apartment .We originally wanted to come and join a course that was being run by the centre but the dates we were available were not aligning with it. Despite this, Qortoba helped us to create a private teaching schedule for the different levels in our family, from an advanced class for two members, and intermediate and basic for three members each. Professional teachers were employed for our benefit who were very experienced and outstanding in the way they taught. My own teacher worked in Azhar University and was very capable and professional. She divided our class into two sections. Arabic for two hours and then one hour of Quran and tajweed. She was patient with our attempts to speak and taught us two topics in just 13 classes! My understanding of Arabic as well as speaking improved dramatically as well as my confidence levels. After a topic on shopping, after class, I would successfully practice what I had learned in the shops with shopkeepers. In Quran lessons, I re-learned surahs that I had forgotten and improved my tajweed at the same time.I have had teachers in the past but my teacher, Sahar, was amazing masha’Allah. She helped my fluency and attempted to correct bad habits. I had a very obvious improvement in my reading because of this. The lessons were all conducted in Arabic language and we were encouraged not to use any English at all; this forced us to get over our embarrassment of speaking and made us listen more carefully in order to understand what was being said. I would never have believed that I would be able to learn from explanations given in Arabic but surprised myself.Qortoba has gone over and beyond helping us to improve in our learning. I really hope insha’Allah I can come back with my family soon to gain more benefit. If anyone is thinking about coming to Egypt for learning purposes, I would have no hesitation in recommending learning with Qortoba.
Nur Al-Alam: I love the Qortoba institute very much. I have been studying Arabic with Ustadh Abu Anas for the last two years. He is excellent and very knowledgeable in arabic grammars and arabic literature. Because of his excellent teaching style and sincere support, I did very well in my University exams. I am still pratcing my arabic with him on a weekly basis. I recommend any one who is serious about learning arabic to enrol in this institute. He is the best in my opinion in the Arab world.
Rizwana Muzammil: Alhamdhulillah! My daughter really enjoyed this institute. Teacher Nehal is so sweet she is very humble she encourages a lot before this classMy daughter don’t knows that much tajweed after thisClass her tajweed pronunciation is very good‏جزاك الله for this institute
Shoaib Memon: Lessons with Ustadh Tariq are the best Arabic lessons I have had. He was the only teacher able to identify my difficulties at an advanced level and help take up to an even more advanced level. Very luck to have him and highly recommend

The American International School in Egypt: what do users think?
Nasraldeen Adam: very good
Amal Mahmoud: Bad management, awful communication, low standard teachers, to cut it short, it was the biggest mistake I ever done!RUN.
BLU Hero: The best thing is that it is very cheap, at only 20 million ❤️
Hassan El-Sobky: They stole Hussein
mina rawhy: A very correct destination. There is more than one entrance and full care for the precautionary measures
Xlightseptic X: I am bus driver.........................Where is school?........................Help.
Ezzeldin Salem: One of the best options for a decent education in Egypt (maybe 2nd only to the CAC but at half the cost!). My son (now in Grade 12 😊) joined the AIS since KG1 and it was a wonderful 14 years long journey. We never regretted it. One of the very few accredited schools in Egypt, and they do take their standards seriously. We always felt that our son was in a safe hands. Thank you AIS for great 14 years 🙏
Adel Ba Wazir: Distinguished and upscale site
Hossam Kandil: This was a good school. Now, it is becoming one of the worst schools. I withdraw my children this year out of this horrible school. Please be careful, do not enroll your children in it. Teachers are low quality. Mainly from Egypt or Middle East, difficult to deal with. It is a bad school. Hossam Kandil
Youssef Youssef: I am a student in this school and the learning system is awful and there is 0 teacher support and one teacher Mr Islam Hassouna does not care about grades and he could care less if you fail
Dave Chow: Met Kris Achter a few years ago and did not have a good impression of him. He was impatient and defensive. Not the best place to send your children.
Omar Kashef: Bad quality of studying , 6 years in the school & the child can’t read well , don’t recommend it at all
Malak Kobesy: I am a student there
MAHMOUD MOUSA: حاجه 5استار
Mahmoud Soliman: I’m in the school
Rana Saeed: One of the rare schools in Egypt that implements the American education as should be
Selim Hafez: Amazing
Samuel Saad: The American International School in Egypt has been one of Egypt's leading schools since it opened its doors to its first 240 students in 1990. Mezo Hamdy: In secondary
Ahmad Ghanem: horrible system defending yourself gets you a suspension for no reason
Samar El Labban: Good school with a clean environment. It helps students to work independently. Teachers are helpful.
