Christian Schubert: I live in Cairo, and since 2018 this store had always stood out as one of the very (!) few interesting bookstores in Cairo. Not anymore. It has become quite boring, the staff seems unprofessional. Asking for the catalogue, for instance, is asking too much! Cannot recommend this place anymore, and I say this as a fan of AUC Press itself!

The shop is quite nice in offering juice boxes to its guests. The shopping process is also very unhurried and the staff is very friendly.The shop offers free embossing, which is offers a glimpse of the craftsmanship that goes into these books.

They could be good as a bookstore but not as a place to stay and work/study
