In partnership with ‘Plan International': The Egyptian Foundation for Refugee Rights’ "EFRR" organized the refugee day (Becoming Neighbors),In honor of the adaption day of the relating to the Status of Refugee convention. In that The Ceremony held several artistic programs and an exhibit of products from several refugee communities of different nationalities.


The EFRR honored four community leaders within the refugee's communities; who helped in creating workshops concerning education, health, and livelihood.


In Collaboration with Plan International, Egyptian Foundation For Refugees Rights (EFRR) organizing 12 days training days for 17 trainers to design a program for promotion and protection of refugees children in Giza governorate, the training program aims building the capacity and develop the skills of facilitators and trainers to work with the children. This event is one of series of meetings which will be organizing during upcoming period under the project promoting the Refugees children’s situations ​


EFRR has arranged the first meeting of refugees “rights and responsibilities of refugees in Egypt” that comes in a series of meeting about the mechanisms of legal and social support for refugees in Egypt. This was supported by German embassy in Egypt.

The meeting included 26 attendees from different nationalities as Sudanese, Ethiopians and Eritreans. The meeting discussed the problems, challenges and barriers that face the refugee community in Egypt. Moreover, it discussed the role of national and international organization. The problems varied between health, educational, administrative problems and the absence of an active role for the organization responsible for providing these services.

EFRR held its annual conference on 29 December 2015 in cooperation with UNHCR in Egypt... This aimed to discuss the refugee’s situation in times of crisis and developments which affect the refugees.


The conference also discussed the challenges faced by the NGOs which working with the refugees, and also discussed the Illegal immigration crisis and the EU countries deal with the crisis..

The conference came out with a number of recommendations addressed to the host countries for refugees, local and international NGOs and EU countries in order to avoid obstacles and challenges over the next year..


The PoC was unaware about most of the services provided for refugees. The kidney patient is unregistered in caritas therefore he didn't take any medical support or financial aid. The PoC has been suffering from his kidney problems since his arrival in Egypt which resulted in many complications in his health condition.

First, I explained to him all the services we provide, as well as Caritas's services, UNHCR services and asked him to get an appointment from caritas for financial assistance and to see a Doctor and get all the tests to receive appropriate treatment. He went to caritas and he got an appointment but unfortunately it was after one month .
