Christopher Shields: Beautiful selection of items, not touristy. Friendly staff and fair prices.
Stef Meliss: The cutest little shop to buy beautiful Egyptian made products from independent artists and craftspeople. If khan-al-Khalili is too busy for you, this is the place to go. We had such a nice shopping experience including fresh juice and 1:1 consultation on the origins of all the beautiful pieces, cannot recommend it highly enough!!
Lena Katende: Literally bumped into this hidden gem while looking for a grocery shop on the last day in Cairo. Conveniently close to Tahrir square. Crammed full of high quality artisan products from all over Egypt, you are sure to find some treasures to take home. I did! So, enjoy the Hibiscus welcome drink and happy shopping.
Reinhard Staudacher: Toller Souvenirshop!
Sebastián Dohnány: What a beautiful shop! Hidden on the first floor, away from the noise and mess, they have a great selection of items to bring back home from Egypt.
Amy Baxter: A lovely artisan handicraft shop in Downtown Cairo which feels like a calm oasis just off the busy street! The staff were so kind and welcomed us with a refreshing glass of juice. Gorgeous pottery, prints, baskets and textiles with information about the makers - very reasonable prices. Highly recommend!
Hadeel Abu Salih: Special handmade merchandise, the staff is really nice and helpful, if you’re in Cairo don’t leave without visiting their store.
Benoît “Benoît” Galland: Great place to buy « real » craftsman products, with a nice welcoming from a lovely staff, near Tahir plazaHighly recommended
Inès Berber: Be careful the shop is hard to find if you don’t exactly know where it is (first floor just above the fruits juices shop) but it worths it!! You had a good time and find a lot of beautiful artisanal souvenirs from Egypt, at a reasonable price. They speak English and even good French.
Little Cub: Lovely handicrafts from all over Egypt. Fixed prices and very calm shopping environment if you’ve had enough of haggling! On the first floor (not obvious to find from street level).
D G: Relaxed shop with a variety of products. They let you browse and don't hassle you which is a relief. Good quality handicraft items that make good presents. They've got everything from books to scarfs, bags and mugs, and more. This is not a tat shop, but a shop that supports artisans. Prices are fixed so no haggling. Friendly staff.

L'orientaliste: what do users think?
Andrey Gusev: I was lucky enough to visit this place before honorable owner of the shop, Mr. Hassan Kami, passed away in 2018, and to shake hands with him. Unfortunately, that spirit that was at the place then is also leaving. Rest in peace, Great Egyptian!
Jeff Narver: I just went to the Orientalist book shop in Cairo after a trip to the Egyptian Museum. I finally found it and had to push hard to get the door open. I was looking for antiquarian books in English on ancient Egypt and found nothing but a few common hardcovers. The woman didn’t speak English well and was not inclined to help. The book stock was falling apart and I think that they focus on pictures. A true waste of time, avoid avoid avoid.
Georgios Oikonomou: Probably it used to be a nice and interesting place in the 60s. Unfortunately, I have never experienced it during the old days. There is only one employee left, his English is limited, he has no clue what he sells or in which language the books are written. If you are a foreigner expect at least to pay 5 times more than an Egyptian (tried this since I live in Cairo). Sad... Be careful!
ALKADI Aj: روعه
Panagiotis Cafatsakis: Very exciting place.
Carlos Sarasola Orio: Great bookshop with lots of old and curious books, maps, postcards and memorabilia from Egypt and more.
J B: Small space but very full with a wonderful collection of old books and prints. Going to have to make multiple trips to take it all in!
Ramez Boshra: Very old and unique library
13 Outdoor: It is the best place I visited in CairoAnd the library has a soul from the owner of the library - the artist Hassan KamiIf I have time for a month in Cairo, I will stay here for 30 daysThis is the best book store in Cairo or maybe in Egypt. The reason is because the store of Mr. Hassan Kamy is very impressed.I will be back!Highly recommend you to visit here
Mickael aziz: A tresor of old and rare books, a beautiful lithograhs and old postcards
Mohammed Abdel Aziz: A treasure trove of heritage books, drawings and rare manuscripts, in a magical location in the heart of Khedive Cairo
Kenzy Fahmy: Does not seem to be able to differentiate between fakes and originals so one should be wary of buying overpriced reproductions. Will pull prices out of a hat and change them on a whim. Insanely overpriced and untrustworthy. A real shame as he has some great stuff.
Jacob Bower-Bir: You will spend more time in here than you intend to. The staff are welcoming and speak many languages.

AUC Bookstore: what do users think?
Carol El Hawary: I love this bookshop.
Andrey Gusev: Nice bookstore at AUC. Come with your passport.
أبراهيم: hype
yasmine mansour: Their numbers aren’t replying neither their website work properly!
Ian Harris: Nice store and grounds of you want to escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. Wander around the beautiful albeit not cheap books, mostly (all?) in English and covering a bit of everything. We were lucky and there was -20% or so on purchases, and you can pay with credit card.
Christian Schubert: I live in Cairo, and since 2018 this store had always stood out as one of the very (!) few interesting bookstores in Cairo. Not anymore. It has become quite boring, the staff seems unprofessional. Asking for the catalogue, for instance, is asking too much! Cannot recommend this place anymore, and I say this as a fan of AUC Press itself!
Abanoub Habeb: I liked it. Also it's a very good place if you're looking for Arabic learning books especially Egyptian Arabic.
Mohamed Gaber: a wonderful place 💜
Mohamed Kilany: It's calm and classy store. People are helpful and friendly. You can see feedback notes from people who read some books, which gives you an idea about what you expect from these books.
ABo*MoSTAfA:
Ahmed Abdallah: It's nice place
Mohsen Saleh: For sure , when i access AUC campus, I feel myself at one of the great universities in the world here in Cairo. The view, the touch of beauty even the air have other flavor. I feel this nostalgia for staying there for ever. Hope that one day an opening for listeners access be available for the people like me who are not studying at AUC and wish to attend the lectures and events. In brief, I adore this place.
Khaled Hassan: It is very excellent and has a huge and different collection of books at different prices
Hadi Muss: A very cozy bookstore with lots of English books selections. The prices are quite standard and special here, if you want to buy books specifically on Egypt, Egyptology and more this is the right place. New niche novels from various author and various genre also available. A must visit bookstore!
Marie Frietman: Good bookshop with all kind of themes
Marie Julie Frietman: Good bookshop worth all kinds of themes
Christian Schoeberl: Well sortet book shop with an high quality levelled selection of books. Recommendable for students too :)
Amirul Sidiq: Bookstore is good
Abd EL Rahman Ahmed: Good book store but very expressive book.

Khan el-Khalili: what do users think?
Waled Ahmed:
Wael Elnemr:
Jessica Egarin: A must-see place in the heart of old Cairo! The cab dropped us on the other side of the street. Crossing the road is not an option unless one wants to die! There is an underground passage to safely cross the street and get to the Souk. Please choose that option if it happens to you. Once in the bazaar, we were overwhelmed with scents of spices, incense, fresh mint tea… There are so many treasures to find there! Just go and play it by ear, let the narrow streets lead you wherever they may take you :)Have some cash with you as shops don’t always accept credit cards and when they do, they add an extra 10% to the bill.
Amr Nada: رائع
ahmed Alnemr: مكان جميل
Mohamed Gomaa: Interesting market, nice to walk around.Crowded to the maximum, not hygienic at all.
Siddharth Das: Busy, over priced tourist trap. Though it has interesting memorabilia and no visit to Cairo is complete without visiting this market
Hichem Boualem: Bonne 100% touristique
Abbas Babiker:
Kunal Surana: Traditional Bazar
Abinash Sharma: Oldest market of Egypt..
Mehmet Cedit: Good place to see the culture, but you need to be careful as a lot of risky people there and too crowded
Hamzeh Alzubi: Nice place to visit, you can buy souvenirs, but be careful regarding prices, negotiate beginning with half the requested price
Amr Ali: Smell of 1000 years of history
Sa Saa: A second life
Mahmoud Abu Taha: One of the most amazing historical places in the Arab world

Al Kotob Khan Bookshop: what do users think?
Lara Aasem: Amazing bookstore and space with a great collection of Arabic translations of important works in social science and literature, as well as publications by their own publishing house.
Areen Iftikhar: Cute bookstore with mostly Arabic publications and a small English section. The management is very kind.
alaa aljomaa: Very nice library with a lot of books flavor, but the guy there tried to charge me five times over the price, I recommend the place but be careful
Luke: great bookstore, I've never tried the mini cafe, I see some negative reviews about it, but the bookstore itself is great and quaint and staff was friendly
سيد سلاوي١٠: very good
Nouran Osama: I used to enjoy this place to have some time for myself and study and the minimum was for 50 EGP now its for 100 EGP.The bathroom wasn't really good and I had to go to Espresso Lab to use the bathroom.
Dr.Weaam Taha: Great place
Fatma Waleed: I used to love this place. They had good iced tea or coffee and friendly staff. You could stay there for 50 egp minimum charge from their cafe. But now it's 100 egp minimum charge. Which honestly, for the vibe, uncomfortable seating area, and lack of charging ports, i think that's a bit much. I've seen better service from other places with way lower prices. They could be good as a bookstore but not as a place to stay and work/study
Waleed Fikry: A warm elegant place, marked in the heart and mind
Omar Atef: Lovely place as usual but, last visit, the beverages could get better in both quality & variety.
Ola Hamouda: Cozy book corner-store.
Keshk: One of the best bookshops in Maadi; calm, lots of books in different genres and languages ( mainly arabic and english ), there's even like a mini café to eat a snack or drink coffee/tea. I obviously recommend it.
Carol M: Used to love this place Id go there and work all day it is quite and calm.. they have a good collection of books as well but recently its been deserted.. maybe the price per hour has been raised up
Nehad Radi: Lovely place. Very quiet, perfect for working or studying. Drinks are good too.
Ahmed Elhagry: For all who love books and readingThat's the right placeGo ahead
Mohamed Elkomy: جميل
Omar Khalifa: Nice quiet place to sit and study or read.
Mahmoud Abdelwahab:
Huda ALTmimi: In the library, you can find special publications that you don't find in other Cairo libraries. The library is beautiful and well-arranged, with a small cafe and a place to sit and read. The employee Khaled is at the top of taste and kindness.

Nomad Gallery - Zamalek Main Branch: what do users think?
Steve Martocci: Wow, Nomad was a pivotal stop to our trip. Not only is the collection of goods fantastic and well priced. The owner Mr. Alef is one of the kindest souls we’ve ever met. He recommended us trusted locations to visit (His cousin’s famous silver shop is a must). Make sure to stop by it’s a special place.
Ibram Ibraheem: Calm and classy place
Jason Cleck: Best shop around Cairo for authentic gifts - purses, scarves, silver jewelry, drink ware, etc. I mean pennies on the dollar cheap! 100 yards from the Marriott Casino!
stephanie lohmann: Lovely place with a good selection items. Everyone working there was very welcoming and considerate, I really appreciated their honest pricing policy. They deserve a worthy visit and more. Would recommend this place as the best souvenir shop in Cairo.
Samer Darwiche: Very kind people and excellent selection of products. Also a very nice place to meet alike thinking people.
Fernando Cavalcanti [Substitutes]: Very nice shop with beautiful, authentic and well made products. The Bedouin items are beautiful and intricately made. The owner and staff were very friendly and helpful. Prices are shown on the items and are very reasonable given the quality of items. It was a pleasure not to be pressured to buy anything or to have to haggle for 15-20 minutes. We highly recommend if you want to buy authentic products.
Yasmine El Nawawy: Excellent shop. Lovely gifts with good prices and a big price range so you can choose the price range most convenient for you. I was met by a staff member and by the owner and both were very friendly and decent and the owner treated me to a gift.
Emily S.: A wonderful place to shop with kind staff and so many beautiful options.
Linda and Robb Hoiseth: My friends and I had an amazing experience at Nomad. The selection is amazing, the prices fair, and the staff are so warm and welcoming. If I ever find myself back in Cairo, I will definitely return.

This is a treasure place to bye hand made and vintage things. Located on 2o floor of building on zalamalek. So good attendance.
Sandrine Coin: Petite boutique très sympa
Nathaniel “Kuwait Funds.” Benneth: Great.
Sayed AbuBasha:
essam hassan: Masterpiece
D. C.: Lovely atmosphere on the second floor of an old Egyptian apartment filled with ethical and fair treasures. All items on sale are handmade and by Egyptian artisans & crafters. We bought many things from here but the most special was the rug we purchased for our apartment. It was a little too large and the owner told us not to worry and come back in an hour. He miraculously weaved it to the right size himself. Definitely a wonderful experience. Can’t recommend enough.
Will Clark: Locally sourced goods are hard to find in Egypt. This is the place to do so.
Tony Indindoli: Very nice collection of crafts art. Relaxing quiet atmosphere to shop, and they are very helpful and welcoming.
