Our first visit to Egypt takes us straight to the capital, to check out the hi-fi and vinyl wares in one of Cairo’s oldest record shops.
With a rotating stock of around 15,000 records Egypt has rarely sounded better than what can be found in the vaults of Mazzika Zaman, one of Cairo’s oldest record stops. First opened in 1976 under the name Samir Fouad, today, Mazzika Zaman is owned and operated by Ahmed Mohammed Ibrahim – “praise be to God that I am the one who owns the store,” he says, still gleaming with appreciation.

With all the collection of vinyl records they have and cassettes, you feel like you have transitioned into a nostalgic, non existent zone where you run from this frenzy world we're living. If you plan to buy pick up, turntable or cassettes player, you can directly go there without fear. Their prices are very reasonable especiall they're dealing with sentimental products. The owner has selected the best people to work for this as they understande what they are selling.

Mallek Hany: This shop is one of the best record stores in zamalek. It’s clean and cozy and the owners make you feel at home. I recommend this store if you’re into records,gramophones and more. if I can i will give this store a 1000/10.
Amr Ahmed: Went there once and the owner was one of the most amazing people out there, almost felt like I was a regular customer there. Definitely a place worth checking if you're into anything vintage from CDs to vinyls to cassettes.
Rex Clies: Superb record store with old classics from Bob Marley, Louis armstrong and Nat king cole to Lesser known artists like Sharhabeel Ahmed.

Omneya Moawad: The vinyls are organised per genre, reasonable prices and there's a friendly man who helps you through them.
Andrew Blum: Very nice record shop. Excellent selection of both local and international music. The man who worked there (maybe the owner) was VERY nice, and not pushy at all. He served us tea and sat with us while he showed us some nice Egyptian music on his computer. It was sweet. The prices are a little higher than I expected, but the guy is selling his treasures. Definately worth a visit! The store has a great selection of vintage stereo equipment as well.
Emre Kiriş: Woow place,dig in deep and you shall find what you look for. I am like a Kid in this store,leaving with a full bag of singles or albums and a biiig smile on my face.Both Emad and Khalid very helpful and knowledgable shopkeepers assisting you through thousands of records.They have the best selection of albums within 6-7 vinyl sellers I visited in Cairo.
Mohamed S. Mustafa: Best vinyl store in town. The essence of vintage turntables and old records fill the place along with the hospitality of the people who run the place. There is always a good bargain and brilliant records to find there. Although the store is a bit tight but you forget where you are and lose track of time once you drown yourself into their more than amazing collection.Records are neatly organized and well-kept.

The place is a little secluded but just follow the map. When you enter the store you'll accompanied with old songs playing and the atmosphere is just, lovely.

The funny bit is that he was very cool about this, he actually started by saying: not very good news, the price has increased!!!Sickening indifference and nonexistent care for Human beings not just customers.I wish I could give minus 5 starts
Pepe Carrillo: I took my guitar to lower the action (which should be relatively quick). I was then told it would take an entire day and I could pick it up at 10 am next day. At noon next day I called and was told it was still not ready and I could pick it up the next day at 10 am. In the afternoon if the next day it was ready for pickup but the action was only mildly lowered.
Violinist - Maged Mamdouh: He has everything and he has delivery and respectable people, but it is very expensive than normal, and he says that there is no return to purchases unless it is not working because of a manufacturing defect, you only replace it!! Although legally you have 14 days to return anything if you have an invoice. In general, a good place
