A mix of beverag and food stops. And interesting local information from our guide. We were then able to enjoy the hotel egyptian brekkie options properly and with confidence, as well as restaurant options on our trip. This is definitely a must do in Cairo.

lambeth1993: The Bellies En-Route food tour was a must-do in Cairo, we couldn’t recommend highly enough - thanks so much to our tour guide Salma and her sidekick Amira. In an extremely busy city with mostly historical tourist sites, the food tour was a real contrast and a gateway to modern Cairo - we ate and drank at around ten different spots in downtown Cairo, mostly the kind of places that tourists would likely not find (certainly with our very limited Arabic!) Salma gave us a great amount of insight into modern culture as well as the food, which was a blend of traditional and modern Egyptian fare along with a couple of surprises. We were out for a few hours and ended up hanging out with some of the tour group into the evening. Would thoroughly recommend to anyone visiting Cairo!

I love that the business is woman-owned and it came from a genuine passion for Egyptian food and culture.When I met Laila, it was like meeting a celebrity. I was so excited to spend the next several hours with one of the co-founders of the business. And Laila was an incredible guide! She had us feeling safe, comfortable, and welcomed from the moment we launched the tour. Her breadth of knowledge of not only the food, but the neighborhoods and history that surrounded us, was vast and fascinating. The tour included behind-the-scenes sneak peeks into the making of a few of the signature dishes we tried, which made us appreciate the food and their chefs even more.Without giving too much away, I'll say that the tour is interactive and fun - it's much more than walking to a bunch of places and sampling their dishes. There was plenty of food...more than we could eat, in fact! And one detail I really loved about this tour was that Laila boxed up any leftovers we had and offered them to the homeless.Our conversations as we literally broke bread together were genuine and delightful. We left the tour full of food, flavors and friendship. After I got home, when people asked me my favorite parts of Egypt, I said, "the food and the people....oh, and the pyramids were pretty great too." I want to go back on the tour just to hang out with these awesome people and eat at these delicious restaurants again. I miss it all already!Don't miss this tour. It will be, hands down, the best part of your trip to Egypt.

The guides were warm, kind and informative! I feel like I have two new friends in Cairo! I love that they support local, family-owned businesses. I always want my travel $$ to stay in and benefit the communities that are the reason I am visiting.I would not find these places or try these local foods on my own. Word of advice - go hungry!Bottom line - the guides were superb; the businesses were welcoming and anxious to please their customers; the food was delicious; and you get to explore and learn about the neighborhood with a knowledgeable guide!I highly recommend either one or both of these tours!

Gurjeet Dhami: We had such a great food tour with our amazing guide Mariam! We booked a private one for my husband and I. All of the food we ate was tasty and we were very full by the end! There was a nice mix of food, drinks, and dessert. I am vegetarian and I was able to eat everything (besides the bonus stop of fried cow brains!) I really liked how she took us to places we normally wouldn’t go because everything is in Arabic and we are English-speakers. We even got to go to the back and see how the tameya (falafel) were made and smell the delicious Arabic coffee. It was truly an authentic experience and I highly recommend this tour and company to anyone who visits Cairo!Mariam was very knowledgeable and showed us great hospitality. Joseph Kearns: We just wrapped up an Egypt visit and enlisted Nermin’s help navigating Cairo. Asmaa was our guide during our time in Giza and Cairo and she was absolutely fantastic. Her enthusiasm for the area was unmistakable and it directly translated into the enriching experience we enjoyed. Asmaa guided us through the Giza Necropolis during which we obviously toured the pyramids and Sphinx - on camel back of course. Afterwards we grabbed a bite at a local restaurant, then visited a museum and local Egyptian fragrance and spice shops. During our entire vehicle tour of the greater Cairo area sightseeing, Asmaa provided valuable local knowledge, facilitated our ease in navigating a new country, and laughed along with us during our day adventuring through Cairo. When we return to Egypt next, which we hope is sooner rather than later in no small part due to our experience on this tour, we will seek her‘s and Nermin’s guidance again, and I would suggest to any of my own friends visiting Cairo/Giza to do the same

She made sure that we were able to get our Visas upon arrival, and had the car waiting on us at the airport to take us back to our hotel. Everyday the driver (Abdul) was on time picking us up. Mr. Yasser was the tour guide, and was very knowledgeable about the history in Egypt. They even took us to shop for souvenirs and was really flexible with the schedule. I approached her initially only for cab facilities and a tour guide, rest cruise, train, hot air ballon etc I was planning to do on my own for cost cutting. However Nermin helped me in booking the entire package without even letting me take any effort and pain.My entire trip was extremely smooth and I had awesome experience. I got a VIP treatment throughout which I didn't even expect or thought will come in my package cost.Highlights:1. David Strauß: Meine Familie und ich haben einen Ausflug nach Orange Bay (über unseren Reiseleiter von Alltours die mir Spring Tours zusammen arbeiten) gebucht. Geplante Abholung war 8 Uhr morgens was schon einmal nicht geklappt hat, wir haben ca 1,5 Stunden gewährten mussten. Nach der Hinfahrt würde erstmal abkassiert , für die Fahrt 5€ pro Person obwohl es nur 10min Fahrt waren und der ganze Ausflug im voraus bezahlt wurde. Auf dem Boot suchten wir unsere Deutschsprachige Reiseleiter vergeblich,das wir uns mit dem Team mit Händen und Füßen verständigen mussten. Der Aufenthalt auf Orange Bay war nur Zeit totschlagen da die Betreiber der Lokale immer versucht haben einen das Geld aus der Tasche zu ziehen , eine Kugel Eis für 3€ oder ein Stückchen Wassermelone für 6€ mehr muss ich zu den Preisen nicht mehr sagen. Dann etwas positives das Essen auf dem Weg zum Schnorcheln war echt super. Von den zwei geplanten Schnorchelstopps gab es nur einen und der war auch auf noch nicht einmal 30min gehalten. Danach ging es zurück. Kurz vor dem Hafen ging dann die Abzocke erst richtig los, da ging der Hobbyfotografen übers Boot und wollte seine überteuerten Bilder verkaufen die man dann per WhatsApp zu geschickt bekam und der leider nicht deutsch sprachige Reiseleiter ist über das Boot gelaufen und hat richtig nach Geld gebettelt aber wenn man nur ein paar Euro gegeben hat ist man dann auch noch doof angeschaut wurden.Ich finde es sehr traurige das man als Tourist leider nur Abgezockt wird , daß war auch unser erster und letzter Ausflug mit Spring Tours!

Les hôtels étaient très bien sélectionnés par l’agence et magnifiques.L’accueil au Caire a été excellent, depuis notre arrivée à notre transfert à Louxor. Le guide francophone privé était très professionnel et passionné par son sujet.Nous avons été très satisfaits du bateau sur lequel nous avons embarqué (MS Quest), le personnel était très attentif et accueillant.Mention spéciale au guide qui nous a accompagnés pour l’ensemble des visites sur la croisière, Ahmed, qui au-delà de son professionnalisme, nous a permis de découvrir l’histoire de l’Égypte autrement, avec beaucoup de professionnalisme et de générosité !!En synthèse, un grand merci à Memphis tour pour l’organisation de ce beau voyage !

Christina E: The best part about this company was the booking. They gave the illusion to be really helpful and to accommodate all of our needs. Once the tour started it was a mess every step of the way. The room allocation wasn't correct (despite talking endlessly to confirm this was correct prior to the trip), the guide loved the sound of his own voice and didnt allow for anyone to ask any questions, had to fight for a refund on an activity which was cancelled and had to spend time explaining to the tour guide what activities we were supposed to do as he didn't have much of a clue. Every taxi booked i had to speak with numerous people to confirm timings and locations. They really did bare minimum. They kept saying they were going to do something special for us, as it was a family trip for my father's 70th, and nothing. Don't be fooled by the good sales team!

La sensazione è che sei uno dei tanti: non hanno voglia di trasmettere e raccontare la meravigliosa civiltà egizia…siete solo un numero per loro. Diffidate. E fidatevi del vostro istinto e non dei negozi dove vi porteranno!!

Falk von der Heyde: Haben über Memphis Tours mehrere Touren gebucht: Halbtagesausflüge in Kairo, Angelausflug Assuan und Schiffsreise auf dem Nil. Insgesamt hat alles sehr gut geklappt und war sehr schön. Hätten 5 Sterne gegeben, wenn der Guide auf dem Schiff besser gewesen wäre (Deutsch war recht schlecht und daher konnte er uns die Temple nicht so gut erklären oder Fragen beantworten). Zudem empfanden wir die Preise für die zwei Ausflüge in Kairo als zu hoch im Vergleich zu anderen Ausflügen gleicher Qualität.

Bianca Bargallo: The worst tour company. Thankfully we made some good connections with some of the tour guides who were willing to help us with all the difficulties we experienced. From horrible hotel and cruises to 3am domestic flights and over 200.00 dollars in excess baggage fees. Fees that could have been avoided if Memphis tours would have communicated properly. Even when we felt we could potentially be in danger due to riots in Israel, there was no one to talk to us, the contact number they gave us was not even working.

Due to bad weather we could not dock at all. We have tried to contact them about the arrangement and not even the decency of a reply!a lot of people who were booked on the tour of valley of kings very frustrated with the way Memphis tours has chosen not to communicate at all. We paid R6000.00 ZAR for tour.

Tara Wilson: This company made my first trip to Egypt the best experience ever. Abanoub Nazimi worked hard to tell us fun facts while testing us so we would remember. We started with Abu Simbel, Nile cruise and lastly Saqqara. I added an extra day and Memphis accommodated. I had a medical emergency and Abanoub made sure I saw a doctor at a hotel. A partire da Kholoud che ci ha assistito durante la prenotazione, rispondendo tempestivamente a tutte le nostre domande, ai ragazzi responsabili che ci hanno accolto nelle varie tappe, fino ai luoghi stessi che abbiamo visitato.Ma un elogio particolare va alle nostre guide: Hala, che ci ha accompagnato durante la visita a Giza ed il museo al Cairo. Super preparata e gentilissima, ha risposto a tutte le nostre curiosità in maniera esaustiva e simpatica. Mamdouh Hosni, che invece ci ha accompagnato durante tutta la crociera. Anche lui estremamente preparato e molto coinvolgente nei racconti e nelle spiegazioni. Penso che sia anche merito loro se il nostro viaggio è stato perfetto. Non potevamo chiedere di meglio!

april lane: My husband and I took the Islamic Cairo Private tour with Al Amhara, Khan Al-Khalili. We were met at the hotel by our tour guide Abduo. I can say nothing but nice things about him. He was on time, met us in the lobby of the hotel and we started the tour. He was very knowledgeable, easy to understand and spoke great English (which was great!!!) not to mention cracked a few jokes on the way!!!The tour lasted about 6 hours because my husband and I opted out of a few of the places (we were tired). I tell you the traffic in Cairo is crazy but our driver was the best as well, he got us to every site safe and I felt comfortable driving with him. I would encourage anyone to do the Excursion day tours with them. They made our first day touring a memorable one. May God reward him (Abduo) and the driver as well (Sorry I forgot his name) and give them both a good ending. Aameen

Bénédicte: Après 10 jours en Egypte, nous sommes de retour en France.La conclusion den notre voyage est : pays fabuleux, organisation du voyage au millimètre, charge mental 0 et 100% plaisir!L'organisation du voyage avec Mirna a été très facile. Toutes nos attentes ont été prises en compte avec soin par Mirna: rythme, choix des visites, choix des hôtels/bateaux (emplacement, qualité accueil, confort et nourriture, chambres famille ou connectées).Nous avons été aux Steigenberger Hotel El Tahrir Cairo , l'Iberhotel à Louxor et le bateau MS Amwaj Living Stone (une suite junior + chambre connectée). Dans tous ces hotels/ bateaux, nous avions un chambre très bien placée avec la vu sur le Nil. Merci MirnaSur place, nous avons bougé tous les 3 jours, aucune fausse note: le guide et chauffeur privé ont été toujours pro et facilitateur avec les enfants.Un grand merci aux guides Cherîne, Magdi et Chérif. Ils sont été très intéressant et ont réussi à garder captiver nos 2 filles (9 ans et 12 ans) . Avec les enfants, c’est un challenge. !Le sens des visites nous ont aidé à comprendre l’histoire de l’Égypte. Leur conseil et présence nous ont également permis de ne pas être trop sollicité par les vendeurs ambulants et éviter les pièges classiques.Pour les repas, tous les hôtels et resto à l'extérieur rincent les crudités avec l'eau minéral. Donc personne de malade ! Et surtout, nous avons très bien mangé (choix, qualité/ gout de la nourriture).Dans les hôtels, les bouteilles d'eau sont mis à dispo dans les chambres. Nous n'avons payé que les boissons à table à des prix très raisonnables.Avant, pendant et après le voyage, Mirna donne toutes les infos pratico-pratiques . C'est top !Bref, faites votre "To do list" et vos attentes et Mirna fait le reste !Sur place, laissez-vous guider .

Lors du voyage aucun problème dû à une organisation millimétré.Nous avions opté pour un guide privatif et véhicule particulier de 6 personnes. Nous vous conseillons cette formule idéale pour ce genre de visite éprouvante même si en Avril il ne fait pas encore de grosses températures mais il fait déjà entre 25 et 30 degrés.Sur le Caire, Le guide Raphael, archéologue francophone, nous a fait découvrir cette mégapole de 35 millions d’habitants, avec bien sur ses Pyramides, mais vu sous un angle diffèrent et loin de la foule. Il a partagé avec nous cette ville riche de culture.Autre atmosphère quand on descend sur Assouan et la visite d’Abou-Simbel et surtout la remonte du NIL avec tous ses temples commentés avec passion par un guide professeur d’archéologie et Égyptologue. Mubarak, un guide unique qui nous a transporté dans le temps et qui nous a transmis avec humilité sa passion d’un pays riche en culture.La croisière sur le Nil fantastique avec un équipage très sympathique et un bateau en parfait état.Un moment de détende dans un cadre idyllique et une bonne ambiance.Nous avons terminé sur la mer rouge à El Gouna où nous avons pu nous détendre dans un hôtel agréable où nous avons apprécié la nourriture et l’endroit qui permet quelques visites locales, plongée et snorkeling.Un séjour exceptionnel grâce à notre correspondante Irinie, qui a su nous écouter et qui a rendu notre voyage exceptionnel !!!Nous remercions toute l’équipe de Cheops travel pour leur professionnalisme qui a sublimé ce magnifique voyageNe chercher pas ailleurs choisissez Cheops pour découvrir ce fameux pays berceau de la civilisation !!!

Pierre Verger: Nous avons réalisé un voyage en famille d'une semaine en février avec descente du Nil sur 4 jours, 2 jours à Assouan et 1 jour au Caire. Le programme était très bien organisé, les guides très compétents et à l'écoute du groupe. Ils ont su s'adapter aux aléas et laisser le temps qu'il fallait pour les visites ou la découverte de la ville ou des soucs. Les hotels aussi étaient vraiment bien. Merci beaucoup à Cheops d'avoir fait que ce voyage restera un souvenir incroyable.

Christine ferrier: Très bonne organisation du voyage par Cheops travel. Ce voyage de 8 jours a été réalisé entièrement par route et avion, avec chauffeurs et guides privés. Les guides francophones (Nahla et El Tayieb) étaient très intéressants, d'un excellent niveau (Master d'archéologie), ce qui nous a immergé dans l'histoire des pharaons. Le timing de visite était parfait, on a réussi à éviter les "heures de pointe" aux temples, ce qui nous a ainsi permis d'être presque les seuls à Abu Simbel, au temple de Louxor, et à la vallée des reines. L’agence a conçu un séjour sur mesure qui a totalement répondu à nos attentes.

Christine Thaler: Nous avons fait à Noël un voyage familial à 17 personnes (9 adultes et 8 enfants) avec l’agence Cheops via Evaneos. Le voyage comprenait une journée au Caire , une journée à Louxor Karnak, 4 jours de navigation entre Louxor et Assouan sur un dahabeya privatisé et enfin une journée à Assouan. Ce voyage a été extrêmement réussi et a correspondu tout à fait à nos attentes. Tout était bien organisé et nous avons été bien pris en charge.Nos 2 guides (1 au Caire et 1 pour Louxor et la croisière) étaient très compétents, particulièrement intéressants et agréables. Ils sont su s’adapter à notre groupe et à nos demandes. Sur la croisière, il a toujours aménagé les horaires de visite pour éviter la foule. Il a su aussi nous organiser à Assouan des visites supplémentaires alors que le planning initial de l’agence était un peu léger, compte tenu d’un vol tardif en fin de journée.Seul bémol du voyage : l’hôtel Embrace a Louxor : hôtel de charme et bon dîner mais service pas du tout à la hauteur et personnel désagréable et incompétent. De même l’accueil au Meridien Hôtel à l’aéroport du Caire absolument indigne d’un hôtel de ce standing (attente de plus d’une heure et personnel à l’accueil odieux).La partie croisière en Dahabaya était un rêve absolu. Le bateau étant privatisé, nous pouvions vivre tous à notre rythme, en famille, tout en profitant des paysages dans un calme magique. Service parfait, très agréable, très bon confort et nourriture adaptée à tous et délicieuse. A recommander absolumentEn résumé, ce voyage était une vraie réussite pour tous, adultes et enfants. La formule du Dahabeya lorsque l’on peut privatiser est idéale .Un grand merci à Chéops et à Mirna

Jean-Claude Carlo: Un voyage privatif en famille en trois étapes :- Visite du Caire (2 jours avec guide)- Croisière entre Assouan et Louxor avec visite d’Abou Simbel (4 jours avec guide)- Détente!!! sur les bords de la Mer Rouge (El Gouna) (3 jours)Notre voyage en Egypte a été très bien organisé, toutes nos demandes ont été prises en compte et le rythme était parfait. Nous avons été suivis de manière impeccable sur place par les représentants de l’agence Cheops Travel et surtout Mirna, notre correspondante.Programme très bien dosé. Nos 2 guides égyptologues (2 jours au Caire puis 4 jours en croisière) étaient extrêmement compétents. Toutefois, on déplorera que celui du Caire privilégiait les visites d’Etablissements spécialisés (papyrus, huiles essentielles) par rapport aux visites prévues à notre programme allant jusqu’à supprimer notre visite du souk «Khan el khalili» par, soit disant, un manque de temps !!!!Tous deux nous communiquaient néanmoins une réelle passion de leur pays et de leurs connaissances.Une croisière sur le Nil enchanteresse : confort, gastronomie et convivialité, avec un équipage aux petits soins nous réservant même quelques petites fantaisies très appréciées.Le plus gros bémol nous vient de l’Hôtel Labranda Club Paradisio à El Gouna qui, malgré des jardins extérieurs paradisiaques, laisse à désirer sur ses parties intérieures. Présence de punaises dans certaines chambres, une climatisation vieillissante, non automatisée et bruyante, très indisposant surtout la nuit.Nous garderons, malgré tout, un très bon souvenir de ce voyage dans un pays d’exception et plein de mystères.Encore MERCI à Mirna et tout le personnel de l'agence Cheops Travel pour leur réactivité et le sérieux dans la préparation et le suivi de ce voyage.

Breizhjsp J: Voyage formidableNous sommes partis 9 jours à 7 personnes (2 adultes et 5 enfants) avec l’agence Cheops Travel via Evaneos.L’organisation et la prise en charge ont été parfaites, il y avait une personne très sympathique (Chérif) pour nous aider à régler nos formalités dès l’arrivée à l’aéroport (visas, achat d’une carte SIM égyptienne et valise égarée). Nous avons ensuite été pris en charge par un très bon guide (Rafat) pour tout le temps passé au Caire (1.5j). Il a de grandes connaissances tant historiques que géopolitiques. Il nous a aidé à nous installer à l’hôtel, il nous a fait faire la visite de Guizèh, avec un petit tour en dromadaires (en option), puis la visite du musée nationale du Caire (et le trésor de Toutankhamon). Plusieurs options supplémentaires vous seront proposées au cours du séjour, prévoyez une certaine quantité de liquide si vous ne voulez pas courir après les distributeurs pour régler les options et les pourboires. Le guide nous a ensuite conduit à l’aéroport pour notre départ en avion vers Assouan. À l’arrivée à Assouan c’est Ali qui nous a pris en charge. Ali est également un très bon guide, avec de bonnes connaissances historiques, il est très sympa avec les enfants. Nous avons passé une nuit à l’hôtel à Assouan. Différentes visites autour d’Assouan sont possibles (barrage du lac Nasser, temple de Philae, obélisque inachevé, village Nubiens …), nous sommes allé à Abou Simbel en partant d’Assouan (2 x 3 heures de route).Puis en descendant le Nil pendant nos trois jours de croisières, nous avons visité : le temple de Kom Ombo, le temple d’Edfou, le temple de Louxor, le temple de Karnak, le temple d’Hatchepsout, la vallée des rois, etc …Le programme des visites est intense mais ça vaut le coup, les visites se font très tôt le matin ou en fin de journée pendant l’été pour éviter de trop subir la chaleur. Vous pourrez vous reposer sur le bateau qui est tout confort. Nous avons fini ce séjour par 3 jours de plongée dans le centre de résidence de Marsa Shagra (site eco responsable), le site est formidable, chalet en forme d’habitat Nubien. Nous avons eu beaucoup de chance : dugongs, tortues, dauphins en grand nombre directement devant l’hôtel et le récif est époustouflant de beauté. On se met à l’eau et le récif est à 5 m du bord. Le staff est super sympa et l’organisation des différents types de plongée est juste parfaite. Attention à ne pas oublier vos niveaux de plongée (bouteille : PADI/FFESSM et FreeDiving : AIDA), ou rien si vous ne prévoyez que du snorkeling (PMT), ce que nous avons fait pour rester avec les plus jeunes.Donc pour tout cela un grand MERCI à Irinie qui a été notre interlocutrice tout du long de l’organisation de ce voyage.

Rémi: Les échanges avec Mirna de Cheops, ont toujours été rapides, clairs, et efficaces. Mieux que d'autres agences.Nos deux guides ont été très compétents. Aimables, efficaces, proposant des adaptations utiles, en particulier pour éviter les fortes chaleurs de l'après-midi (47°).Seul élément épuisant, propre à l'Égypte: la demande permanente de pourboire. Ce n'est pas les montants locaux, faibles, mais leur très grand nombre. Et cette remarque, hélas s'applique aussi à Cheops et à ses guides: 'meilleur guide', 'vie difficile', choix d'options payantes... Mon souhait était un voyage 'tout compris', sans supplément repas, entrées sur les sites, boisson, pourboire, sorties du soir, ... Je précise que Cheops est cependant mieux que les autres agences, puisqu'un guide nous a proposé de globaliser les pourboires sur les sites, pour une somme raisonnable, et que j'ai obtenu que toutes les entrées sur sites et tous les repas soient inclus au devis. Mais toutes les boissons restaient en supplément,…avec pourboire et 2 taxes parfois.Les 4 hôtels étaient haut de gamme; presque gênant. Tous avaient piscine, buffets parfaits, et dans chaque ville étaient 'le mieux' de ce que j'espérais. A Louxor la clim ne fonctionnait pas bien, ils ont essayé de réparer, mais sans succès. On nous a tout de même proposé un changement de chambre.
