liesbeth de jong: Chef Hamdy is definitely the place to be if you're looking for gluten free products in Cairo, or basically food for any other allergy you have, like lactose free, low sugar, ... ! While he is an expert in all type of allergies and can adapt his bread, cookies, cakes and pastries on demand for your diet. He will start with asking you questions about your diet and help you find the right products for you. He is even asking me for allergies that reach beyond my knowledge, like a ketogenic diet (apparently a low carbohydrates diet).He is very innovative offering a wide range of western pastry, like croissant, chocolat cookies or small pizzas, and a wide range of oriental Egyptian products, local bread, cookies and pastries. For example delicious date cookies, Egyptian Bosomat (crunchy beadsticks with sesamseeds that you traditionally dip in your tea), of Zalabia (if you like donuts, you should definitely try this), Basbousa (delicious sweet semolina cake) and even Feteera (one of my favorites, you can eat it with salty or sweet things, like white cheese, or black honey and tahini).Just ask him, while he can make many things on demand. I ordered a delicious birthday cake, which was also highly appreciated by my “non-gluten free” family and friends.

Edible but nothing special ?This is it.I was so hyped up about this place from all the reviews but it’s definitely not worth it at all!We had the english and german breakfast, All the cold cuts aren’t of great quality, the eggs are just okay.. the orange juice was fine but not super, tables weren’t that clean.. service is just okay..Potato wedges were really good though!You know.. everything was just.. fineNot something to look forward to but it will fill you and it’s okay enough to enjoy if you’re hungry..I’d give it 6/10
