Omnia Yasser: The Egyptian Geological Museum was established in 1901. It is the first museum of its kind in the Middle East, the Arab world and Africa. It was opened to the public on December 1, 1904, as it included fossils of vertebrate and mammalian animals collected from Fayoum Governorate in 1898. The museum remained in its place until 1982 when the building was demolished. The museum was originally built for the construction of the Cairo subway, then the museum’s holdings were moved to its current location in the Athar Al-Nabi area in Zahraa Al-Maadi on the Nile Corniche. The museum includes a large collection of all kinds of rocks, minerals, and fossilized dinosaur skeletons. It also includes rocks from different stone ages.I recommend it to visit, especially the children, because they will enjoy the dinosaur structures and the colors of the stones. The museum is located near the Al-Zahra metro station.
