Jessica Egarin: A must-see place in the heart of old Cairo! The cab dropped us on the other side of the street. Crossing the road is not an option unless one wants to die! There is an underground passage to safely cross the street and get to the Souk. Please choose that option if it happens to you. Once in the bazaar, we were overwhelmed with scents of spices, incense, fresh mint tea… There are so many treasures to find there! Just go and play it by ear, let the narrow streets lead you wherever they may take you :)Have some cash with you as shops don’t always accept credit cards and when they do, they add an extra 10% to the bill.

Just a metro ride away from the centre, the museum has an impressive collection of Coptic art. The collection includes wonderful late Roman and early christian works of art, impressive textiles and awesome manuscripts. The building with its gardens and annexes is a gem itself. Well worth a visit if you’re in Cairo.

It was erected on 8,000 square meter land offered by the Coptic Orthodox Church, under the guardianship of Pope Cyril V.The Coptic museum houses the world's most important examples of Coptic art and it was truly spectacular, the artifacts were breathtaking and the museum itself is very well-organized and everything was exhibited beautifully.I highly recommend checking out the museum whenever you’re in Coptic Cairo.

Segundo a hagiografia dos dois, Sérgio e Baco eram oficiais no exército de Galério e eram muito estimados por ele até serem expostos como cristãos em segredo. Os dois foram brutalmente punidos, com Baco morrendo durante as torturas e Sérgio, decapitado. Porém, por conta de diversos anacronismos históricos, a hagiografia não é considerada um documento confiável.

The church was built in the fourth century and was probably completed during the fifth century. It was burned during the Fustat fire during the reign of Marwan II around 750. It was then restored during the eighth century, and has been continuously rebuilt and restored since the Middle Ages; However, it is still considered a model for the early Coptic churches. Vicente Regulez: Antiguo museo de el Cairo, sigue teniendo una inmensidad de piezas aunque algunas se van llevando al nuevo museo desde hace bastante tiempo, pero hasta que no se inaugure el nuevo, este es de obligada visita. He pointed Eldamaty that the aim of the visit is to stand on the latest developments for the rehabilitation and development of the museum project in preparation for the opening, pointing out that " Bokova " keen to visit the museum during its presence in Egypt is a testament to the great international attention enjoyed by the project.
The minister added that, this visit is not the first for " Bokova ," where the museum saw the launch of the international campaign " are united with Heritage " in May 2015 and launched by UNESCO in cooperation with the Ministry of Antiquities in an indication that Egypt has not and will not give in to the terrorist attempts brute to undermine the heritage and civilization , after the museum presented by the terrorist incident that took place in front of Cairo security directorate in January 2014 destroyed.

Tarek Ghaith: يضم متحف الفن الاسلامي أكبر وأروع مجموعة من الآثار الإسلامية على مستوى العالم. بدأت فكرة تجميع وعرض التحف الإسلامية في عام 1880م ومنها تم تأسيس مبنى المتحف وافتتح في عام 1903م في عهد الخديوي عباس حلمي الثاني، وقد تم تصميم واجهته على نسق واجهات العمارة المملوكية وهو يقع بجوار مبنى دار الكتب القومية.تضرر المتحف على أثر حادث تفجير مبنى مديرية أمن القاهرة عام 2014م، وقد تم تجديده وافتتاحه عام 2017م. وهو يتكون من طابقين ويضم المتحف أكبر مجموعة للقطع من مختلف أنحاء العالم الإسلامي والتي تسمح للزائر بالتجول عبر جميع فترات التاريخ الإسلامي، حيث تنوعت موضوعاتها من فلك وطب وعمارة وغيرها، كما تنوعت مواد صنعها من أعمال خشبية منحوتة بدقة، وقطع خزفية مزينة بإتقان ومخطوطات غاية في الندرة. ومن أهم كنوز المتحف مفتاح الكعبة من العصر المملوكي وقطعة نسيج تحمل أقدم كتابة كوفية.

Анри Исраелян: Довольно интересный музей, который расположен в прекрасном здании. И в отличие от других мест Каира, где дают культур-мультур, закрывается относительно поздно: в 17.00. Что и предопределило наш выбор сонь, проснувшихся после 11-ти.Навигация внутри музея интуитивно понятна, залы расположены как в хронологическом порядке (от возникновения ислама до наших дней), так и тематически.Несомненным достоинством музея является керамика и витражи. Восторг! Но есть и другие интересные артефакты (украшения, саркофаги и др.). Какие-то предметы искусства к исламу отношения совсем не имеют, но культурной апроприацей это, наверное, нельзя назвать.За 2-3 часа в спокойном режиме можно всё просмотреть. Есть и дворик чудесный, куда можно выйти и отдышаться. Сувенирный магазин слабенький, смотреть там не на что. Вход 120 египетских фунтов для взрослых и 60 -- для детей. Для такого места в общем-то дешево. И стоит потраченных денег.

It is located on an area of 80 acres that was used in the past as a stable for police cavalry. The project was announced in 1984 and opened to visitors in 2005, as it took more than 7 years to build at a total cost of more than 100 million pounds.

M Traveller: The palace itself is amazing with very interesting historical architecture and precious pieces.Good displays are missing. It really requires an audio guide.Unfortunately, dust covers the very precious furniture and carpet. It needs to be well-cleaned and maintained.Take care the door closes during the Fridays' prayers if you are planning a visit on the holidays.
