Greg slater: One of my favourite museums although is looking a little tired and dated - a reflection of the gradual relocation of most of the collection being moved to the GRAND museum - viewable whenever that opens.I find the best parts of the Cairo museum are where the majority of the visitors pass by. The displays of ordinary, everyday items tell a lot about the lives of the ordinary people. To get the best from this museum, get a good guide and take your time. There is more to Egyptian history than Tutankhamun's tomb contents ( do see them) but take time in some of the quieter parts.
محمد طه عويان: مكان ساحر يحتوى على الكثير من الآثار الفرعونيه المميزه
Ahmed Eleawa: El moseo egipcio NO SE NECESITA DEFINICIÓN ES TAN BELLO ❤
Jon J.: 8/10 of the items are not identified, and the place is a mess and hard to navigate. It was worth it to see King Tut's Golden Mask and sarcophagi, you can easily take photos, just gotta be clever and patient. No photos is the only rule I don't respect anywhere, because it makes zero sense. If the GEM ever opens, I hope it is better organized and with each item identified.

Siegfried B: One of Egypt’s finest museums. The Coptic Museum is a welcome source of tranquility in the busy capital. Just a metro ride away from the centre, the museum has an impressive collection of Coptic art. The collection includes wonderful late Roman and early christian works of art, impressive textiles and awesome manuscripts. The building with its gardens and annexes is a gem itself. Well worth a visit if you’re in Cairo.
Abdulrahman Qazzaz: The Coptic Museum is a museum in Coptic Cairo, Egypt with the largest collection of Coptic Christian artifacts in the world. It was founded by Marcus Simaika in 1908 to house Coptic antiquities. The museum traces the history of Egypt from its beginnings to the present day. It was erected on 8,000 square meter land offered by the Coptic Orthodox Church, under the guardianship of Pope Cyril V.The Coptic museum houses the world's most important examples of Coptic art and it was truly spectacular, the artifacts were breathtaking and the museum itself is very well-organized and everything was exhibited beautifully.I highly recommend checking out the museum whenever you’re in Coptic Cairo.

Museum of Islamic Art Cairo: what do users think?
Tarek Ghaith: The Museum of Islamic Art houses the largest and most amazing collection of Islamic antiquities in the world. The idea of collecting and displaying Islamic artifacts began in the year 1880 AD, from which the museum building was established and opened in 1903 AD during the reign of Khedive Abbas Helmy II.The museum was damaged as a result of the bombing of the Cairo Security Directorate building in 2014 AD, and it was renovated and opened in 2017 AD. It consists of two floors and the museum includes the largest collection of pieces from different parts of the Islamic world, which allows the visitor to wander through all periods of Islamic history, as its topics varied from astronomy, medicine, architecture, etc., and the materials of its manufacture varied from finely carved woodwork, elaborately decorated ceramic pieces and highly decorated manuscripts. rarity. Among the most important treasures of the museum is the key to the Kaaba from the Mamluk era and a piece of textile bearing the oldest Kufic writing.

Matt G: The house is very nice as are the collections from around the world. Unfortunately, our experience wasn't great because the ticket seller asked for a 10 pound tip because I got a student/teacher discounted ticket and was then forced getting the guide. When we said that we wanted to go alone he said he had to come to turn on the lights. He then continued to give a full tour despite our request. It was a frustrating experience. Pictured here is the guide waiting to take people around. Btw, he is nice and informative but at times he would whisper information to me and not my girlfriend (such as Gayer Anderson bring gay), which seemed odd. Again, we just wanted to enjoy the place on our own.

Grace Angkasa: Of all the museum I've visited in Cairo, this one was one of the most disappointing one. The architecture was grandiose in the open spaces, which in the heat of the sun in Cairo was a very strange decision. One have to walk thru a large open underwhelmed plaza to reach the entrance. Once inside, again there is another large atrium of no apparent purpose to walk thru to get to the actual one room gallery where the whole grand civilization are cramped into one room. I've always enjoyed visiting small museums in smaller cities where they displayed all their treasures from different eras in one room, which could be charming and understandable. But here, in Cairo, with the abundance of treasures, the decision for just a one room gallery is disappointing. For one could not help wondering that there's certainly not because of the lack of space nor of historical artifacts.I need to also mention the mummies room which after the strange video displayed entrance where one was in expectations of something grand then find one self going down to what can only be call the basement. This is where the kings and queens of amcient Egypt are kept, sharing a small spaces, almost literally next to each other. After seeing the monuments they built for their after life and then see their remains, displayed in an almost afterthought ways, it is very sad indeed. One new gallery, newly open, off to the side, completely without any sign is the textile gallery. It is the only redeeming factor in this museum worth visiting.Thank goodness there are so many other museum in this interesting city to keep one happily occupied for days!

Mohamed Mahmoud Khalil Museum: what do users think?
Sofy Saad: From my adventures in Dokki 🤗 I discovered this museum. His name is Muhammad Mahmoud Khalil, he was born in 1877 and died in 1953. He held the position of Minister of Agriculture in 1937 and then President of the Senate in 1939. However, what earned him wide fame and immortalized his name until today is his pivotal and prominent role in the cultural scene Al-Masry recommended that his palace, which contained hundreds of international paintings, be converted into a museum, which is known today as the Muhammad Mahmoud Khalil Museum and its campus. The story of the museum begins when Mahmoud Khalil traveled to Paris to study law at the Sorbonne University in 1897. There, he met a simple girl named Emily Hector who studied music and shared his hobbies of collecting works of art. He fell in love with her and married her in 1903, and when he returned with her to Egypt he built She had a beautiful palace on the banks of the Nile in 1918. He lived with her between Egypt and France, collecting works of art for their home in Egypt.Appointments:From 10 am - 4 pm daily except for Monday and FridayTicket prices:10 pounds for an Egyptian student, 30 pounds for Egyptians, 50 pounds for a foreign student, 50 pounds for foreign faculty members, 100 pounds for foreignersCategories exempt from fees1. It was founded by Muhammad Mahmoud Khalil, and it collected valuable artistic holdings. And when Mahmoud Khalil died in 1953, he had bequeathed these holdings to his wife, provided that she bequeathed them and the palace as a museum to the Egyptian government after her death. The opening of the palace as a museum was for the first time in 1962, after which it was transferred to Prince Amr Ibrahim Palace in Zamalek in 1971 and then reopened in Zamalek in 1979.
