hossam elmahdy: I cannot decide categorically about it, especially since it belongs to another country and is committed to other customs and traditions, and the cultures are completely different. They know what they need, but as an Egyptian Arab, I see that the place lacks some services so that those inside it do not have to go out a lot to fulfill their needs from abroad. But I do not deny that it is a place very nice. Thanks

Ian Harris: Nice store and grounds of you want to escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. Wander around the beautiful albeit not cheap books, mostly (all?) in English and covering a bit of everything.We were lucky and there was -20% or so on purchases, and you can pay with credit card.
Christian Schubert: I live in Cairo, and since 2018 this store had always stood out as one of the very (!) few interesting bookstores in Cairo. Not anymore. It has become quite boring, the staff seems unprofessional. Asking for the catalogue, for instance, is asking too much! Cannot recommend this place anymore, and I say this as a fan of AUC Press itself!

Mohsen Saleh: For sure , when i access AUC campus, I feel myself at one of the great universities in the world here in Cairo. The view, the touch of beauty even the air have other flavor. I feel this nostalgia for staying there for ever. Hope that one day an opening for listeners access be available for the people like me who are not studying at AUC and wish to attend the lectures and events.In brief, I adore this place.
Khaled Hassan: It is very excellent and has a huge and different collection of books at different prices
Hadi Muss: A very cozy bookstore with lots of English books selections. The prices are quite standard and special here, if you want to buy books specifically on Egypt, Egyptology and more this is the right place. New niche novels from various author and various genre also available. A must visit bookstore!

alaa azzam: I visited this place twice and it's really one of my favourites! You can't expect what kind of great books you'll find. I usually go there to exchange my books and I always come out with great finds. They even have so many books in so many languages not just Arabic and English. You can find books in Spanish, French, German, Japanese and so many more. I bought books in Korean, Urdu and Turkish.My only complaint is that the place is too tight and narrow and it can be suffocating in summer. A lot of the books are stacked on top of one another that it can be difficult to pull out a book. And most importantly, my favourite section which has an impressive collection of foreign languages is the narrowest spot in the place. Just by looking at the spines I can see that there are a lot of amazing books but I can't reach them or take a proper look with all the dust. It's too narrow and confined. I genuinely hope you give this place more space and attention because it has great potential.

Dietrich M: Very humble hidden gem in Maadi for bibliophiles and anyone really looking for a book on almost any subject.The organization and variety is great for such a small space, but a lot of books are out of reach and even more are shelved behind entire shelves of books; I wished I didn't have to kneel down to find some books because their collections are so varied and all-encompassing, especially in the English literature section.For horror aficionados, there are books by authors like James Herbert which I honestly haven't found elsewhere.It's definitely worth multiple visits; if you're really into books, expect to linger around for three hours or more. I was shocked honestly that there weren't many visitors.
Hend A.: A place hidden like this in a building's garage, selling used books, very good for all reading lovers, because it contains a wide variety of books on arts, history, children, education, architecture... almost everything.The owner of the place is helpful and helps you with what you are looking for.

Dark Myth: If you get the chance do the crawl inside the great pyramid. It's a small tunnel probably 3 feet by 3 feet because it was originally a maintenance tunnel. The main entrance is sealed up. But once you get through the narrow tunnel it opens up and you can walk the main chamber all the way to the tomb near the top. If you hate tight spaces this isn't for you because there's people squeezing coming in and going out.
