The online placement tests assess individuals’ English and Arabic language skills in order to place them into the different programs offered by the School of Continuing Education, the Graduate School of Education, and the School of Business of the American University in Cairo.

The Online English Placement Test (OEPT) is an online test. It is designed to assess individuals’ communication language abilities to place them into the different programs offered by the School of Continuing Education, Professional Educator Diploma Program, and the School of Business. OEPT is a 130-minutes long. The results are issued the next day of the exam.

The online Arabic Admission Test (OAAT) is an online test. It measures the individual’s degree of proficiency in contemporary standard Arabic. Passing this test is an indication that the applicant has the minimum language skills required to start studying one of the SCE translation programs or the career certificate in teaching Arabic as a foreign language (CCTAFL). The results are issued the next day of the exam.

AUC's Road to College program is your free online gateway to independent English-language learning from The American University in Cairo (AUC). Whatever your ability, the program will enhance your English language skills and prepare you for success in school and university. The program is for students ages 13-18.

Because with the Arabic immersion program, you will study at least 5 hours a day, 5 days a week which will accelerate your Arabic to the next level. In a matter of one or two months, you will understand your teacher in Arabic. Some of the guys in my class didn’t know any Arabic before they came and now, after just 3 months, they understand the teacher in Arabic and speak back to him in Arabic. That’s amazing! Studio Arabiya has the best teachers in Egypt hand down!

I enjoyed studying in the Arabic immersion program at studio Arabiya. Everyone there was extremely professional and the living space was clean. The apartment had all the necessary amenities and even provided free drinking water, a washing machine, and dishes. There was no need to bring anything and the area was safe for me as a young woman. This made the entire experience of studying in Egypt so much easier. I had a great roommate and the most amazing teacher that went out of her way to make sure that I understood the lesson. My Arabic teacher was truly passionate about teaching the Arabic language and had years of experience. I would recommend this program for anyone going to Egypt tor study Arabic.
