Joël Strübi: The good:+ coaches speak englishThe bad:- coaches try to humiliate for taking an advanced class by punching with full power (despite the request to stop and the obvious weight difference). This is a huge no-go- silly combinations and the coach doesn't know how to count in a reasonable rhythm (bag work makes no sense like this)- The class is short (1 hour) and quite expensive (200 pounds)- the room is tiny. This is very dangerous, as you walk into each other when fighting - this is how accidents happen)

Kaia Lola: I'm giving a three since I wasn't able to experience a class. As a fighter traveling from the US, I was aware of the cultural differences that could impact my training while visiting Egypt. I messaged in weeks before from my personal FB to confirm which classes I'd have access to as a woman and introduced myself and my background in fighting/training.Whoever runs the FB said I had access to all the classes, so I excitedly ubered across town my last night in Cairo after loading my bags with training gear and searching across town for a mouthguard as I had forgotten mine just to be turned away. Apparently they only offer kickboxing to women or privates. As someone with a many fights, a purple belt and years experience, a cardio kickboxing class does nothing for me.I honestly wouldn't be half as disappointed had they just said no women ahead of time for any of the contact classes or mma classes as I was visiting for. The whole thing left a sour taste in my mouth and ruined my last night there.If you're a woman who trains seriously, I wouldn't bother visiting, personally.
